8 years ago and now live in a wonderful Town called Beccles on the Suffolk Norfolk border. Only a few days ago I was talking to a local shop owner about Aneurysms, as my wife
recently had exactly the same operation, when an old chap pointed out in a strong Suffolk accent ” Doesn’t he talk a lot, men don’t talk so much round here”. I couldn’t resist asking him
why this was the case. ” Best leave the talking to the women” he declared. So with this in mind if a male intends to communicate with another male make sure it is on the subject of sport ,
cars and of course Ladies breasts otherwise you are more than likely a homosexual or even worse a salesman.
I can’t imagine what it would be like to take a portrait of a man and not converse on anything to do with his life, experience and perception of the world. Discussing who played on the left
wing the previous saturday or his preferred synthetic motor oil is not enough for me to capture character and personality.
